In Loving Memory | Girish Joshi

We are saddened to share the news that our board member, Girish Joshi, passed away unexpectedly last week.

Girish was a dedicated advocate for youth mental health and a powerful voice in the work to end stigma. As a Mental Health First Aid facilitator, he helped educate and empower countless community members. He also played a significant role in strengthening our partnership with the Microsoft community by supporting workshops, panels, and mental health presentations.

Since joining the NAMI Eastside Board of Directors in 2021, Girish made a meaningful and lasting impact on our mission and the people we serve.

His wife, Deepti, and daughter, Aarna, were often present at our events and remain strong mental health advocates in their own right. Aarna has contributed greatly as part of our Youth Ambassadors program. Our hearts are with their family during this incredibly difficult time, and we want them to know that the NAMI Eastside community stands ready to support them.

As we remember Girish and the passion he brought to this work, we invite our community to take a moment for reflection, grounding, and care—perhaps by stepping outside or spending a little time in nature.

He will be deeply missed.
